The Ugandan Shilling (UGX). Credit cards are accepted at major hotels and lodges, but carry some local currency for smaller transactions.

English and Swahili are official; guides and lodge staff on our itineraries speak fluent English.

Are there cultural etiquette tips I should know?

A handshake is the common greeting, modest dress is appreciated in rural areas, and always ask permission before photographing people.
